Inmitten Eschweges gelegen zählt der Nikolaiturm zu den bekanntesten Wahrzeichen der Stadt. Die geplante Neugestaltung des Platzes vor dem Turm bietet nun einen einmaligen Blick in die Stadtgeschichte. Denn bis ins 16. Jahrhundert stand hier die zum Nikolaiturm gehörende Godehardkirche. Im Rahmen eines Pressetermins wurden die ersten Ergebnisse der Grabungen präsentiert.
